Sicilian lemon honey. 500 g jar. Brezzo lemon honey is produced only in a small area of eastern Sicily. It is quite rare to find lemon plantations large enough to allow the production of pure lemon honey. In terms of characteristics, it is quite similar to that of orange, distinguishable from the latter by a more acidulous and pungent note. For these peculiarities, as well as in combination with cheese, it is also excellent as a sweetener for herbal teas and cold drinks. Excellent in combination with both fresh (ricotta, mascarpone) and mature (caciocavallo and Ragusano) cheeses. Harvest period: April - May. Harvest area: Sicily. Consistency: crystallized. Color: from straw yellow to white. Bouquet: lemon flowers, with a pungent note. Taste: refreshing, reminiscent of lemon jam.
